What an incredible weekend! Marie and I loaded up the car and hit the open road headed for the unknown…Potter County! Cherry springs State Park is a destination that we had been trying to visit for over 4 years! The park is known for its scenic location and lack of light pollution, making it ideal for stargazers and photographers. We were excited to camp for 2 nights within walking distance of the field and enjoy campfire food! The majestic views of the Milky Way and numerous constellations were even more beautiful than we could’ve imagined and the photographs hardly do it justice!
After 2 nights enjoying the stars and the great outdoors, we headed east to Amish country, stopping at the green dragon market. My family has been going there for years (as a kid I hated it) but now I wanted to share the unique charm and atmosphere with Marie. We enjoyed chicken pot pie and homemade ice cream while window shopping the Amish foods and crafts.
Saturday we continued eating our way through vacation with a delicious breakfast cooked by my grandparents who welcomed us for the second part of our trip. We also visited spruce street harbor park and had some shrimp tacos, and then ventured into the city to find the mac Mart, where we had “BBQ in a bowl” Mac and cheese. So worth the 20 minutes of trying to find a parking spot! One of the highlights of our trip was seeing Coldplay at Lincoln financial field in Philadelphia with great seats and beautiful weather! It was a colorful show including lighted wristbands synced to the music, confetti, and awesome fireworks! It’s been on our bucket list to see them and it was an amazing experience!
The last day of our trip was a beach day! We visited the jersey shore, rode the waves and sat in the sand doing absolutely nothing, which coincidentally is one of our favorite past times! After a few naps and a delicious picnic lunch, we headed up to the boardwalk for dinner and a stop at Lucky Leo’s, a staple of boardwalk visits throughout my childhood.
Even though this was an absolutely amazing vacation, the best part has been years in the making. While camping, I got to ask my best friend and love of my life to marry me! Surprise!!! It was truly magical and we’re excited to spend forever together!
Congratulations!! I am so happy for you both. Thanks for sharing your good news and these absolutely beautiful photos
Love,
