I stood behind a big oak tree last Saturday giddy with the anticipation of photographing a proposal and waiting for the couple to arrive at the bench Tom had chosen.  I looked out at the city and the puffy, passing clouds  and realized that I love this “job”.  There is something so special about being a part of every big life event, especially with a couple as sweet as Tom and Kate!

This proposal was one of the sweetest and most genuine moments I’ve every photographed, hands down!  Tom and Kate sat on the bench under the oak tree and read a devotional with the wind gently blowing and the sun peaking out from behind the clouds.  It was such a peaceful and intimate moment.  After a few minutes, Tom stood up and led Kate a few steps from the bench as they talked.  I of course, being the emotional sap that I am, was holding back tears (unsuccessfully!).  One thing that I’ll never forget about their proposal was Kate’s adorable laugh.  Through the whole proposal, Tom had her laughing and smiling, and as he reached for the ring and got down on one knee, you could feel the joy resonating from Kate!

The love that these two have for one another is so real and tangible.  It only took a few minutes of seeing them together to realize that they are true soulmates.  I had SUCH a fantastic time with them and I know that these two will be the couple that grows old together and loves harder each day!  Thank you Tom and Kate, and congratulations!!! <3
