Over the course of the past few months, I’ve had the privledge of photographing an incredible transformation of the chapel at our local catholic school. As a previous Queen of Angels student, it was exciting to revisit the school and reconnect with some teachers as they worked to create a new chapel.
The original chapel was in need of some serious repair, and thanks to some amazing people, it got a whole lot of loving! Dozens of teachers and volunteers came together to create a beautiful new space for the students to use for worship and prayer. One volunteer in particular, Maria Willis, went above and beyond throughout the entire course of the project. She has incredible artistic talent, a drive for perfection, and is extremely thrifty. Her ability to balance her family life while finding quality pieces and reviving donations from other churches truly made the new chapel a unique and beautiful culmination of faith and love. One of my favorite parts about documenting this project was seeing all of the different pieces come together into one beautiful space and blend so seamlessly.
This new space will be used for years to come by Q of A students and families, and I feel blessed to have been a part of the renovations! The dedication and love that was poured into this project is visible in every part of the chapel. Congratulations to all of those involved that made it not only an act of service but also an act of love!
